Tuesday September 19:
Homework: Complete Ch. 2 vocabulary flashcards. Due Wednesday. Study Ch. 1 and 2 vocab!!
NB: Ch. 1 quiz grades are going on Powerschool today and tomorrow! Retakes begin tomorrow and end Tuesday next week. The retake is not the same as the first quiz, so please study all Ch. 1 vocabulary. The highest grade of the two quizzes will be the final grade.

Monday September 18:
Homework: Begin making flashcards for Chapter 2 vocabulary. Flashcards due Wednesday.
NB: Starting Wednesday September 20, students can begin retaking Ch. 1 vocab quiz

Friday September 15:
Homework: Complete mythology story. Due Monday. Get in the mindset of the Greeks-- how was something in the world around you created? You can choose whatever you want and be creative. Stories should be at least one-two paragraph(s) in length.

Thursday September 14: Back-to-School Night and 1st Vocab Quiz
For parents: BTSN begins at 6 pm in the MPR
Homework (optional): extra credit gods/goddesses in 2017 assignment due Friday

Tuesday September 12:
Homework: Finish "Derivative Hunt" story and complete exercise on p. 17. Continue studying for vocab quiz on Thursday and begin preparing Ad Astra workbook for workbook check on Thursday.

Monday September 11:
Homework: Finish translating Chapter 1 comic. Use p. 23 in Ad Astra for your translation. Begin studying vocab in preparation for Thursday's quiz.
Extra credit: Imagine one of the Greek gods and goddesses in 2017. Due Friday.

NB: Washington Latin is helping with Hurricane Harvey relief! We are collecting gift cards from Lowe's, Target, Home Depot, Walmart, Kroger, in any amount. We are also collecting checks made out to Catholic Charities USA with "Harvey" in the memo. Students' advisors will collect gift cards and checks. Our goal is to raise $7500 by September 15th! Extra credit homework assignment: Due Friday September 15th. Imagine one of the gods or goddesses in 2017. Answer questions and draw a picture to describe a modern-day god or goddess. Be creative!

Homework: Write a sentence using our first LYCU phrase: Carpe Diem. This sentence should be written on a piece of lined paper in your green Latin folder.

Homework: Think about what it means to be a bonus discipulus or bona discipula. Write a paragraph (5 sentences) describing what you will do this year to be a

First day! Welcome to Latin!
Homework: Look up the meaning of your first or last name and write it on a post-it. Students will receive "Latin names" next week based on the meaning of your names. (Example: Linda can mean soft, tender, or beautiful. So a "Latin name" for Linda might be Pulchra, meaning beautiful)
